James likes to help so he got involved in cooking a meal for a retreat at our church! We had 25 youth come to the retreat, making a difference, giving their lives to JESUS to mold them in HIS image!

Teams who have been here with us remember this fun swing at the camp center, Mary loves to swing on it as do most of the youth who come to visit, even adults like the swing! Tomorrow Mary and James start back to class, pray for their safety as they start a new class year, James in 7th grade and Mary in 11th. They are both in the same school one year! Mary will graduate this year LORD willing and James is just starting high school!

Franklin and Miguel found this great big bunch of bananas on the camp property! Thank you for your prayers and support of the mission work we are doing here in Costa Rica! Come be a part of the work, building a camp center to teach GODS Word and bless the lives of the Costa Rican people in the NAME OF JESUS! It will not only touch the peoples lives as you minister, but GOD will bless you and work in your life too!

Claudette, Franklins Mom is here with Emmette for 10 days to visit with us. The kids have enjoyed gramas visit, and hot cards games with Emmette! Praise the LORD for family, HE created each thing we need and what a wonderful thing family is!
Franklin has enjoyed walking around the camp center sharing the vision GOD has given us of building Taller del Maestro (Workshop of the MASTER) a place to retreat and draw close to the MASTER, JESUS CHRIST!

Greetings from our home to yours!
Hope you have had a great start to an awesome weekend! We are busy we just had this team from Fredonia Baptist Church New Albany MS, and now Franklin's mom comes in Sunday LORD willing. We plan to work here some, she may make curtains etc. We also have tile to lay and painting to do always lots to do! She also wants to go to the coast a day.

Feb 15 we have a couple coming in to stay a month Charles and Darlene Ballard, they wanted an opportunity to serve short term. This is the first time we will do this so be interesting! We have set up one room upstairs in the conference building for them to stay. After Ms Nancy passed away we brought her furniture etc over here to the camp to store. Her children have donated it to us now, so it has come in handy she had a couch, table and chairs fridge etc that we can use to set up for teams and especially for this couple, it will feel a little more like home to them!

Also this team who was just here laid tile upstairs, so far it had just been concrete floor. So it will be much easier upkeep! And don't have to set your feet down in the mornings on dirty ole concrete! Guess it does beat dirt,,,,, hehe!

We really are enjoying our house! Don't know whatcha got till it's gone! One thing I didn't even miss anymore but love having back is kitchen cabinets! The houses here in Costa Rica are lucky to have a sink in the kitchen most have a small cabinet top but not necessarily!!! 7 years without, I was beginning to get used to it...So now being able to put away all my dishes in real cabinets is a blessing! And having a house to go home to while we have teams was nice too, before we lived right in with the teams! They even did the cooking the week they were here so it gave me a lil break! They had me spoiled, I had to start cookin again!

They gave the kids a wiii & some games, one is just dance, so last night we did exersize, hey some good things come with these games!!! Of course mario is one of the games,,,The kids have really enjoyed it! They go back to school Feb 8 so it will mean much less time to play!
They have been doing their own laundry and helping out keeping the house clean while they have been off school.

We went to get Marys uniform yesterday, we had ordered it in Dec. The shirt is teal colored and the pants are black with white pinstripe, looks like a professional! We are excited about her being a senior, hard to believe! PRAY for her that she won't lose her focus on JESUS as she grows up!

James will be starting high school, 7th grade, we ordered his shirt yesterday he can get it the day before school starts! He will wear the same type pants, navy blue as he has all the school years here.

The other day I was talking to him about missing Mary when she goes to college, and he opens his eyes real big and says, "you mean she's leaving?" They will miss each other although they'd never believe it now! hehe!

The cicadas are humming right along this morning they drive you crazy with all that screechin! Callin for rain I guess they'll have a long wait, rain starts back in May LORD willing! They even get louder as time goes on... arggghhh

Had a nice dew this morning but that don't last long in this hot sun! Goes down to 70 at night but daytime highs at 85-90!

Fun times with Ambassadors for CHRIST kids club!

Thank you for giving for us to be able sow seeds of hope and love in these little ones! We have a funtime of crafts and board/table games, then a bible story and outside games.

James and Mary are my faithful helpers with kids club! Many hands make work light is a proverb my mom always used and it is true! James and Mary are a real blessing to our ministry and as they grow they have shown they have real talent they want to use for the glory of JESUS CHRIST! Pray for them as they grow that GOD will give them courage to stand up for what is right!

Natalies House

Jared, Elizabeth, Nathan and Natalie came out to spend the day with us yesterday. What a blessed time! The kids played and ran around on the camp center with James. They were able to try out the big swing that has been a hit with kids of all ages!

We took their picture in front of the tent we set for extra storage, and natalie didn't want her picture taken, she didn't like that house much! They are missionaries in Ecuador. They are raising funds to repair a house they have purchased and also to build a shop for them to do some vocational training, using the gift GOD has given them to minister in the name of JESUS to the people of Ecuador! They are here in Costa Rica one month on ther way to the states.

Abassadors for CHRIST!

We have started working with the children in the local community of Pozos.We have formed a kids club called Ambassadors for Christ.
This community is about 2 miles from the camp center. It is our closest community. We pass through this "pueblo" each time we go out to town or school. We have felt a burden for these people and want to share this as a prayer request to each of you. Please take a moment and pray for the people in this community of Pozos.
Pray for open hearts to the GOSPEL of JESUS CHRIST, that these little ones would know who JESUS is along with their parents and will accept HIM as their Savior!
We can do a lot of good things, and help in a lot of ways, but we want to do each activity based on GODS HOLY WORD! They will know the Truth, and the Truth will set them free! Free from their past, free from sin, free to live the life GOD has for them in JESUS!

JESUS said, "I AM the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the FATHER except through ME! John 14:6

New year for youth!

As with any group of people in this year 2011 it has been a great year, and a year of challenges for our youth group in our church Arbol de Vida. We work alongside our pastor Olger and his wife Guiselle. Although we don't work directly with the youth our children Mary and James are a part of the group so we are directly involved!
The kids have had a lot of great moments this year, many new youth coming to CHRIST and now the group is steady at 25 each Sunday morning and even Wednesday evenings for prayer night, the adults are outnumbered by the youth many times!
PRAY for this group as they surge into the New Year 2012, that they will affirm their faith in GOD and keep walking daily knowing JESUS is with them each step of the way.
Sometimes they will tell me they are unhappy or that life is just depressing,but with GODS help they can overcome learning the same as we are, that step by step when we stay close to JESUS is when we are the happiest, safest, and growing knowing JESUS is there with us!

Thank you for your payers and support of our ministry here in Costa Rica! We were able to be a part of a baptism that took place last Christmas! What a blessing, this young man Manuel is growing in CHRIST and is now starting to serve in our church!

Youth, what age are we talking about?

This is Sunday evening, and seems like we just had Monday, where did last week go, and what about the weekend! WOW!
This has been a busy weekend, maybe thats why it flew by so quickly!
Mary spent the night Thurs & Friday nights at Maria Amables house. They have been friends since we got here to Costa Rica!
Saturday morning I had my bible class, so James and I left the house around 7am. I left James in Tabarcia to play with friends, and went to class from 8-2.
Franklin worked here at camp in the shop, then in the evening joined us for an awesome church service! Our youth group at church have been growing in the LORD, so they were in charge of the service Saturday night. Was wonderful, those of you who have met Dalberth, he is 23 now, he was in charge of leading the service, master of ceremonies of sorts. They started with music as they usually do; all but 2 of the 7 people playing and singing were youth, Mary at the keyboard and Maria Amable at the drums!
Here the youth group ranges from 16-30something! Hence the headlines! Hehehe! Anyways back to the service, after wonderful praise and worship several of the youth took up the offering, 2 sang a special song. 4 young people gave a short version of their testimony! What testimonies!

And the theme throughout, although they hadn't even planned it that way, each had to get together what they were going to say but not share it until the service, the theme throughout was how the church had brought them the love that had been missing in their life! WOW! GOD is so good! As each of them finished telling about how JESUS had changed their life, Dalberth asked the Father or Mother to come up to give their child a hug, what a special time! Looking forward to great things to come! Alltogether there were around 30 youth in the service, we adults were outnumbered! What a blessing! Our pastor Olger has always worked hard to draw the youth in, and help them get on their feet, helping them study, helping them find jobs, and teaching them the WORD OF GOD!
Hope to see these kids strong for JESUS throughout their lives, living, giving, loving without holding back, without thinking about how they look or who is watching, GOD give them strength and a strong LOVE for JESUS CHRIST to last forver! Amen!

Today you will be remebered in many way at your memorial service, beautiful memories of your selfless life, always giving, and loving without boundries!

This picture was taken a few days after ms. Nancy came here to work with us. She lives here at the camp with us in the beginning while she found a house in town to live in.

She came up to see our new house, full of joy for us although she didn't have a house yet! Now she has a more beautiful mansion, in heaven, no rent to pay, no electricity to worry about, the water is crystal clear and free! Praise the LORD!

Ms Nancy was determined not to be a burden on anyone and loved to help where she could! She washed dishes and cooked for several teams while looking for her house to live in.

I hope to be an example of love and strive to better each day as Ms. Nancy has given us example!

Quiet...

Today is quiet around here, James had fun day with his class at school today and Mary went to pick up her tests from last week, then her one class where they learning etiquet are going to eat at a restaurant for lunch.

Thank you so much for your prayers for us! I am thankful for each of you today! GOD hasn't brought us together for no reason! HE gave us to each other, to mutually serve JESUS, working with what we have to give to others, first of all the gift of eternal Life in JESUS CHRIST by faith in HIS NAME.

Then the gift of bible teaching, the gift of a smile, the gift of food when they are hungry, the gift of encouragement when they are down and out. These are all things we have been able to do and continue, because of your prayers and support of our ministry here in Costa Rica.

If we don't give, then who will? GOD has called us to this place, and HE has called you to stand with us, thank you for being faithful to your part in this ministry.

Thank you to those of you who have come! We are thankful, GOD has sent many wonderful people here to help out this past year. If you haven't made plans to come down to Costa Rica on a mission trip please let us know if you have a desire to serve. You don't need specific gifts, the one thing that will help you as you serve is a willing heart and flexibilty,knowing that if you set aside a week of your time, GOD will use you in mighty ways as only HE can!

Our call is to build a camp and training center. What will this camp center do? GOD has called us to build a place for HIS people to come be prepared to go out and preach the gospel to the nations! Missions is different than what I had ever imagined it is. Each mission is different, as each of us is different.

GOD using ordinary people to do extraordinary kingdom work!

The cool thing is that GOD uses each of us at full capacity, ever wonder why GOD didn't call you to be a math teacher, or asrtonaut? GOD gives each of us gifts, then puts us to the test to see if we will use what HE has given us to serve HIM! Imagine, your talent you hadn't even thought of, might just be where GOD has made you strong to serve JESUS!

Each of us is called to do our part, bringing people to JESUS for healing and restoration, ready to serve HIM wherever we are, whoever we are around! Thank you for your faithfullness to JESUS, look forward to hearing how GOD is working in your life! Blessings in JESUS, Evelyn

Talk to GOD for a friend!

Many of you are already praying; but in case you haven't gotten the updates, our friend Ms Nancy Cox is in ICU here in Costa Rica. She had blood clots in her lung and caused complications to her heart. She had 5 respiratory arrests and 10 cardiac arrests! The Dr's got her stabilized and she has been in ICU unit of Clinica Biblica since Monday November 7. Her Sister Sarah came to Costa Rica to be with Nancy for a few days last week. Carey her son came in Saturday and leaves out today.

We went to the hospital last night to see Nancy. She is improving little by little. There were less tubes and machines connected to her and she breathes easily now where in the beginning she had trouble getting her breath even with ventilator! She can also open her eyes to show us she hears us. We have been talking to her each time we go see her in hopes that she hears and can be encouraged to keep fighting for her life!

She will be flown to TN on Friday tomorrow morning. We had originally been told she'd fly today, but they had to make all the connections and they are preparing her to fly tomorrow LORD willing.

Please pray for her safe return to the states, for Carey as he flies today, and all her family as they await her full recovery. Ms Nancy has been a huge help to us and we are very thankful to have been a part of her life! Thank you for your prayers and support of the ministry here. Blessings in JESUS,

Teams host backyard bible clubs and work with children in many different communities here surrounding the camp center.

Teams help build, you don't have to be skilled to use your hands for GODs glory!

We are in the middle of rainy season and yes stirring up some good home made soup sure does hit the spot! We have been staying busy even tho right now even to walk out and let the dogs out you need an umbrella and boots! We don't have a rain gauge but I bet we'd have to empty it every hour or so! Today has been a lot less rain it actually was sunny till around 1:30 pm! My jeans and towels dried on the line! Franklin stretched out a wash line on our front porch so I hang up the thickest stuff so it won't take so long in the dryer! I went to pick up James and he fell asleep in the car and 1/2 hour later is still snoozin! They were both very tired this morning, we had a late night at church Sat night and yesterday most of the day we were at church so it takes a lot out of you!

Thank you very much for praying for us and giving to make it possible for us to do the mission GOD has called us to here in Costa Rica! Please pray for the Christians affected in the earthquake in Turkey.

Sing to the LORD a new song!

This is Mary and the music group from our church. We went to do an outreach activity in the mountains of Quitirrisi. This area is a reserve, and has about 1800 people who live there. Right now there isn't a Christian church that is open in this area. Our pastor takes our youth and they play soccer with the youth in Quitirrisi, and this has opened the door for evangelism! GOD is good, our strategy has to change with the changing times, bringing hope and peace to the lost, and the good news that JESUS has made a way for us to live in HEaven with HIM for eternity.

Step one: Feel the need for a change in your life

Step two: Ask JESUS to forgive you of things you have done in the past

Step three: ask JESUS to come in to your heart, and ask him to write your name in the BOOK of LIFE.

Step four: Pray with your own words talking to GOD just like you talk to a friend. Then get a bible and read, you can start to read in John, it is a good beginning point. Look for a church and tell someone about your desicion to give your life to JESUS! May GOD bless you as you start this new part of your life, all the old things have passed away, behold all things are made new! Amen!

Where you goin?

One of the songs the kids and I have grown to like, plays on the national radio station here in Costa Rica. It simply says, "Where you goin?" Donde vas?

Today I woke up with this question in mind, where am I goin? It is important to have a focus, dream big, and go for it! GOD is a big GOD! HE loves it when we bring our menial requests to HIM, HE wants to hear us, so pray, ask and then get goin!!! Where we go has a lot to do with what we believe! I Believe JESUS died for my sins, and that through HIS sacrificial death, (Ididn't deserve it) we all have eternal life. I look at it this way, JESUS spilled HIS blood on calvary for you and me.

It is like a room with wall to wall presents. Mine has my name on it, yours has your name on it. I can't choose yours and you can't give me mine, I have to come to JESUS, ask HIS forgiveness for my sins, and he opens the door to the room with presents inside. My name is in bold letters, not hard to find, although there are trillions and billions of gifts, just waiting for their owners to open them! JESUS heart is for all humanity to come to HIM. He washes us clean and, the door opens for our free gift of eternal life forever and ever amen!

JESUS did all HE could, have you?

These are just some random pictures I found on our computer, worth looking at! This is a little play house in a corral that is close to the camp. Someone built it with lots of love, and maybe even lived in it! But now it is abandoned. We must keep up the house of our heart, don't abandon the work JESUS has started in you! Keep it clean asking hourly or even minute by minute for forgiveness, for directiont through the HOLY SPIRIT, sweep your house and open for JESUS to come in!

The creek by the camp center. This creek runs fresh water year round and has never gone dry! We thank the LORD for all the water, it is a blessing to drink fresh spring water, right from the ground inside the camp center property!

Praise ye the LORD!

So at the end of this blog there is a small dainty church. Where are you going today? Go to church, seek the LORD while HE is yet to be found. Our days are numbered. The gifts are wrapped, waiting for us to open them, each one of has the gift of eternal life, just waiting to be opened! And many gifts GOD gave us even beforehand, to use to serve JESUS CHRIST daily.

Welcome home Ms. Nancy!

Ms. Nancy came to Costa Rica in February, and has been a blessing to our family as we minister the WORD of GOD to the people of Costa Rica! Nancy helps us with James and Mary when they get out of class early and we can't make it tot own to pick them up. She is also involved in her church in Puriscal where she lives. We are thankful for each person who has come alongside us to serve our LORD JESUS CHRIST beside us. Thank you for your prayers and support of our ministry!

This is what was happening outside Ms. Nancys house the day she moved in a few weeks ago. She had been living in a small apartment, but now she has found a house to live in. BUT, as we brought her furniture to the house she's renting, there were 2 different crews pouring concrete and fixing a drainpipe right infront of the house we were helping her move into! So we had to manuever around all this, yes sometimes it is a circus here! Keeps things interesting!

Ms Nancy in her new kitchen, she is settled in, and is taking spanish class each Monday to try and communicate with each person GOD gives her! To bring them to the feet of JESUS, their lives will be changed from darkness to the light of life in JESUS CHRIST!

James at school!

James' class was in charge of the "acto civico" for independence day, September 15! One of the class led the ceremony, and several of the kids had poems etc. and these little girls pictured here danced to typical music! James watched!

So After the ceremonies were overwith i snapped a quick picture of James with his wonderful teacher, Ms Dorita! She has been an angel! Please pray for her and for James and his classmates as they finish out the rest of this year together, and move on to high school next year!

Takes teamwork!

GOD has given you a special job, one only you can do!

GODS fingerprints are in your hands, and HE wants to use you to bless others, that is HIS MASTER PLAN!

While some may deem picking up rocks a lowly job, unworthy, no skills involved, no glory, yes there isn't much glory in picking up rocks. BUT it is a necessary thing, if we are to build this Camp Center.

One rock at a time, one piece at a time, this will be a place of restoration and joy to many people. Together we can do this!

Thank you for coming alongside to PRAY, GO and GIVE!

Mixing concrete and passing it a little at a time in buckets to build a wall, there isn't much glory in it, it hurts your back, it makes your arms sore!

BUT it is needed, in order to make the walls strong, in order to build our character!!

If you think about it, many of the menial things you and I do on a daily basis aren't very glorious! But in order to give our Saviour JESUS CHRIST the glory we must; do our homework, cook the meals, pick up rocks, build those walls, do our very best at each small part of the puzzle that belongs to our time and place, so those coming after us can build on what we started!

The finished product is whole families, children through senior citizens, who know JESUS! If they love HIM that's worth more than any glorious job or anything in this life! Amen!

JESUS loves you written on the wall...

These are children at a soup kitchen we visited in June. These children will in a few years be adults, what have we built that these little hands can build on as they grow? Lets be good stewards of our time, lets do this together, PRAYing, GIVing, and GOing, into all the world, starting right where you are this minute reading these lines!

GO with courage and joy in your heart, knowing that even though the world may never know you did what you could, JESUS does, and thats what matters! In the bible many of the people mentioned never knew they would be remembered! But they did what they could for JESUS sake!

If you meet me and forget who I am you have lost nothing, but if you meet JESUS and forget who HE is, you have lost everything!

Have a blessed week in the name of JESUS, strive to go higher, to do more, to listen better, to reach out a touch someone in the LOVE OF JESUS this week!

Happy Birthday JAMES!

James, Happy Birthday! Love you very very much!

Sunday afternoon we had invited James Sunday School class to come celebrate with him! What a day! They ran and played all afternoon, stopping only long enough to wolf down hamburgers then back out to play! There were 7 boys along with James all about 3 months apart in age! What a blessing friends are!

They made a human table, and 3 floor tower! We were thankful to initiate our new home in this way, a place that our children can play with their friends, and we can minister to them in the Name of JESUS!

Mary and some of her friends hid a treasure hunt, and the boys ran all over the camp looking for the clues! In the end they had to come back to the house and the girls had gotten gift bags ready for them with candy and cookies!

Today the children of Costa Rica celebrate thier day! It is childrens day here in Costa Rica! many children left their uniforms at home a donned shorts and t-shirts, and teachers planned special activities for their students! Some schools had even rented inflatables and clowns to celebrate! James school was having games and special foods, and he was excited to get to wear his PE uniform, gray shirt and navy blue shorts!

It is true, JESUS LOVES the little children, how could we do any less! He says the kingdom of GOD belongs to the children! Hug your child today, tell them you love them, tomorrow may be too late! Let's be proactive and love the children GOD has put in our midst and tell them we love them and JESUS LOVES THEM TOO!

Thank you for giving to tell the good news, GOD loves each and every person and gave HIS SON JESUS CHRIST to build a bridge between us so we could reach HEAVEN! Thank you for praying for us as we work here in Costa Rica! Together we can reach those least thought of, those who may otherwise never have heard the Gospel of JESUS!

Backporch! Here is where the action is on just about a daily basis, we let the dogs out and they come get a bite to eat, muddy shoes are on the rack, and paintbrushes along with lots of other things are in the sink! A normal backporch huh!

Franklin has been taking the backhoe apart! It has quit WALKIN' so he took it apart thanks to Ricky Tate we'll be able to get the parts and get this machine back together and ready to dig up the world as he puts it! Franklin will be building a road in order to make the entry to the camp center a little easier, and then he has a project to do a lot for our pastor and a group of men who will build a small sports complex!

Thank you JESUS for the gift of being able to work for GODS kingdom!

I praise the LORD JESUS for how HE has blessed me and my family! I am thankful today for Franklin! He has been an inspiration to me and helped me out of a lot of jams! Franklin has been there for me through thick and thin!

We met in the summer of 1991 and married February 29, 1992. We have had our ups and downs as in any good marriage but am happy to say we are still going! GOD has given me many opportunities to serve HIM alongside Franklin and I am thankful for that. In this day and age it is hard to find people who will tell you the truth, and stand up for what is right! Thank you franklin for being there for me and for standing up for what is right, and helping me to stand up too! I pray that as we celebrate 20 years together next Feb. that GOD will bless Franklin abundantly with more strength each day and give him wisdom as he leads our family and this ministry here in Costa Rica, Taller del Maestro!

Do you have a bible?

We have traveled this way with teams since we moved tot he camp center, first we all pile in our pickup and van and kia sportage and drive tot he entrance. Then the truck pulls the van out to the top of the hill, we unhook, then on to the destination! It is fun for the first time, and most times we can do it ok but one time with a team of 15 eye drs and students we weren't laughing! We got halfway up the hill and the truck wouldn't go, it was too slippery!

So we all got out except the drivers, some waited, some went ahead and walked up the hill, what a climb by the way! We were able to get on out that day and our enemy didn't rob us of the joy that awaited, salvation and many people could read their bible for the very first time with the glasses they were given! Praise the LORD!

With this team in July we were able to give out 200 bibles to people who may not even have a bible in their home! Praise the LORD these people have GODS Word in their home for the first time! Amen! Thank the LORD for the priveledge of being able to read and for having a bible in your home, read it today!

This has been a great week here at the works shop of the MASTER! We had visitors, Miguel and Bitinia came to visit and see the new house! Miguel has been a wonderful helper for Franklin he has come for the 3 years we have been working developing this camp center. He told us as we prayed for this place of refuge and rest that he wants to come out and volunteer! So as we made the purchase and started to work clearing land Miguel has been right there a wonderful helping hand. He can try your patience, but GOD has used Miguel many times to encourage us to keep going! He and Franklin walked yesterday afternoon to see where to build the new entrance into the camp property more info coming soon!!!

Bitinia is a wonderful prayer warrior and tells me, "pray,, GOD will show you which way" when there seems like no easy answer! She has lived through a broken first marriage and a rebelous son, many dissapointments in many areas of her life. But as she has grown in her relationship with JESUS she has been an inspriation to me and many other ladies! Thank you LORD JESUS for sending such wonderful people into our lives!

Miguel and Bitinia brought us a gift, they gave us a clock to hang on the wall of our new home!

We have been told, teach them, train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not turn from it! I am a strong believer in teaching our children, and not waiting for someone else to do it, who knows what they will tell them!

These little ones had an opportunity many children don't have, even in the country of Costa Rica, who loves their children and protects their rights. Many churches don't offer Bible school, something that is so common in the states you can pick which one to go to several weeks throughout the summer.

What a priviledge to teach these little ones the words of JESUS our Saviour in many fun ways!

Franklin showed the kids how to draw on the cross and the colors show through! Wow, what fun to discover JESUS in new ways!

These little ones got a great chance at trying their hand in some art projects! Many times our church funds are limited so they may only get a white sheet of paper and some markers, so art is a fun way to reach children for JESUS! They repeated the bible verse at each station, what a blessing!

Bible verse for the week:

John 14:6 JESUS said to him, I AM the way the truth

and the life, no one comes to the FATHER except through ME!

We learned 3 new childrens songs, a first for our church! 150 kids along with parents clapped and sang bible songs in church! Amen! What a blessing!

Daniela was baptised a few weeks ago along with 12 others! What a blessing to see a life changed from darkness to light! Daniela is a single mom of 2 girls. They are living in our church for right now and the girls are very involved in the banner group! There are 7 girls of various ages who dance with banners during the church service and it has been wonderful to see Danielas girls taking part in worship of the HIGHEST KING, our LORD JESUS!

This picture was taken on our 3rd day of bible school! We had a group here with us from Mobile Ala they were able to bless 130 kids in our church with a wonderful bible school, and many more in backyard bible club each afternoon! They were also able to give out around 200 bibles to individuals as they walked around our town of Puriscal! What a blessing! Thank you for giving to the LORD! I am a life that was changed! Amen!

Mission accomplished!! These 12 disciples left our house at 2:30 am Saturday Morning to go back home! What a blessing to get to know such wonderful servants of JESUS CHRIST! They were able to give out nearly 600 pairs of glasses and saw around 850 people in 6 Medical clinics, in a span of 6 days!

WOW! GOD is so good, many of these people hadn't been to the dr in over a year because of difficulty getting to the local clinic, or non existance of medical attention in that area! What a great blessing to be able to see a dr and recieve the needed meds to feel better! Each day we set up tables for the drs and sign in and pharmacy, and last but not least by any means was the prayer table! Many came to know JESUS for the very first time as their LORD and SAVIOUR, As we led them in a prayer for forgiveness and they asked JESUS to live in their hearts forever! Amen!

Puppies! Our friend Margarita gave us these 2 german shepherd puppies to help be a watch dogs for the camp center!

She prayed with me as we looked out my bedroom window in our new home. She prayed that GOD would send angels to surround the camp center protecting it from all harm and in my spirit I could see those Angels by faith standing linking hands totally surrounding us in GODS presence, WOW! GOD sends prayer warrriors to help encourage us daily, thank you JESUS!

This little boy came to the medical clinic with Gail Denton and team! We saw 220 people in 2 days, wonderful people and JESUS was presented to each one as we prayed with them and gave out the medicines they needed!

MS Nancy helped out at the medical clinic, counting the meds and sharing with the team!

Sandwich anyone? We were blessed to share a yummy sandwich made by the ladies in the indian villiage Gail and team went to for 2 days!

Vivian and I shared a laugh and a sandwich, hers is PB&J (first time to taste peanut butter!) and mine is a sandwich in a banana leaf her mom made for us! What a blessing to get to know someone like Vivian who loves the LORD and serves in her community! Thank you JESUS for sending people like this to encourage us to keep giving, serving going! Amen!

what happens at Taller Del Maestro

Sometimes what we see and what is really happening are 2 totally different things! We had a great week with the group who came to us from East Heights Baptist church Tupelo, MS. They painted, picked up rocks, played with kids, preached GODS Word, all in 6 days! They had a great trip here and life changing for all of us! They blessed us the last night of their time here by washing our feet a very humbling thing, we felt very unworthy, but as JESUS washed the feet of his disciples the night before he was betrayed, so these precious people washed our feet, the night before going back to their work and school. They took time to bless us in this way, something no one else had ever done! Thank you LORD for these precious little ones, may they feel YOUR HOLY PRESCENCE with them always!

Some of these youth had already been feeling a tug on their hearts to serve GOD in a greater capacity than before. While here in Costa Rica GOD confirmed to them each one in a different way that JESUS wanted more of them, and that HE was the one who would do it! LET JESUS take your life today to mold you into the person HE wants you to be, giving you the freedom to choose, make the right choice today!

Thank you to each of our teams who have made the trip down here, even in the midst of family issues, crisis of belief many times, but GOD has blessed you for your willingness to serve JESUS! Thank you for coming and for being faithful in all things to our LORD JESUS!

Wanted to introduce you to the newest member of our family! Yes it may just look like a weed eater to you, but,, after working for 3 years with a machete, it is a long awaited for reward for Franklin!

James got to use it first Saturday morning. Now Miguel has a full time job trying to keep after 5 acres of grass, plus if he has spare time there are 25 more acres of bushwhacking to do! See the guys in the background, since we just have one weed eater they are still stuck with the machete part time!!! Praise the LORD for strong backs and willing hearts to work! PRAY for these 3 guys as they work Miguel, Jon and Bolivar. And Franklin as he guides them and works on getting this camp center ready for campers to learn about JESUS, to ask HIM in their hearts and live for JESUS forever! Amen!

Thank you to the many of you who have given in order for us to be here on the mission field! We complete 7 years here in Costa Rica this August, and 10 years in missions! We have enjoyed our mission experience immensly and know GOD has so much more in store for us.

I wanted to update the blogs below a little bit. Somehow the settings have gotten changed on our computer and it no longer allows me to type in y blog before sending it off into syber space!

So,,, update on whats been happening.

There was a team of 9 people here with us for a week from East Heights Baptist Church, tupelo, MS. They were a huge blessing to us and many people here in Costa Rica!

They arrived last Thursday. Friday they worked here at the camp center. Some worked on the camp kitchen finishing walls and painting. We also got stuff ready to do a mini back yard bible club Saturday. They made a banner and prepared games for the bibleclub. Saturday morning early we drove to San Jose, to a villiage named Guizaros. This began as a small squatters villiage, and now has around 600-1000 people living there, lots of children! We went to volunteer at a soup kitchen there in Guizaros. There were 50 children who came to the soup kitchen Saturday. They range in ages from 3-14. They feed these children every day, and saturdays they hold a Sunday School for the children. The team baked cupcakes and decorated a banner to leave at the soup kitchen to decorate the place a little! We were able to share GODS Word with these little ones, paint a craft with them and love them and pray for them! Saturday night one of the young men preached in our church service and 2 people made professions of faith at the call to repentance!

This group also built a retaining wall behind our church where the river was eating away at the banks! They worked 7 hours selflessly giving, working for our LORD JESUS!!! What a blessing to our church, now we can feel more secure in this building knowing the river has been held at bay!

The last night they wanted to have a special ceremony for us, to pray for us and asked if they could wash our feet! WOW! This was new experience for us and whata blessing to see each of them kneel down as I imagine JESUS did on HIS last night before HIS betrayal! What an honor to be the recievers of such a wonderful service! Thank you team east Heights baptist and to each person who made it possible for this to come about!

GOD is so good and gives us everything we have NEED of to live and function!
Now many times when we think we can't take any more is when the STUFF of life comes pouring down on us! This past week was a prime example!
In the life of a missionary sometimes when we least expect it GOD stretches us in ways we didn't even know we needed it!
Like when you start back to the gym after many weeks of vacation from exersize, and the next morning you wake up with muscles you didn't even know were there because they hurt!
We traveled some 300 miles this past week with Audrey Richards and a team of students/drs and helpers. We had an evangelist and his wife from Panama with us, translators who come from Canada and Europe, and our pastor Olger and his wife Guiselle, a truly international mission team, for GODS glory!
The team saw around 420 people for a complete eye exam and free eye drops and glasses. As they arrived to the airport we picked them up right on time this time, sorry for the wait last time Audrey!
We came to the pulperia where we had left the van parked, and I realized Franklin had both our keys and was about an hour or so behind us! Thankfully we had called a taxi tohelp trasfer people to the camp center and Jon our helper was there with the truck, we made it home just fine, Praise the LORD!
It had rained so much that the road in places was a slippery mess!
The travel itself left us worn out, and the heat in Upala was nearly unbearable! The first day we set up clinic inside the church there in Buenas Aires de Upala. About an hour into the clinic it was so stuffy you could hardly breath inside the church! Franklin set up some fans helping to move the air, and thankfully after awhile clouds covered the sun a little, GOD giving us a little break! We ate fresh fried fish, rice, salad, and plantains, and other things we were unsure what it was, the meals were dilisioso!!! As we traveled back home on Wednesday we found out it had been raining, raining here at the camp!
The road was a muddy mess again, and treacherous as we slipped and slid our way down toward the camp! The team was great and they didn't complain at all! Although I am sure they were thinking where are we going and what have we gotten ourselves into!
Our 3rd day clinic was about 2 hours from the camp in the mountains and as we set up the team was thankful and said several times, what a nice breeze! Makes you thankful, after the 100 degree heat in Upala! The last day of clinic the group was able to serve in a squatters villiage here close to puriscal. It was ablessing, lots of little children, muddy feet and all! Thankfully the team was ready with stickers, silly bands, and pencils, the kids were elated!
We shared the gospel of JESUS CHRIST with each person coming through the clinic and gave out tracts and prayed with them! What a blessing! Thankfully GOD had a plan in all our travels and all the mud and heat, people gave their lives to JESUS, and even some miracle healings, praise be to our LORD JESUS! AMEN! Thank you for praying for us! We know without your prayers and support we would be unable to keep ministering to the people of Costa Rica. Thank you!

In this picture we are in the kitchen at the camp center and james brought in 2 pineapples we harvested from tops we planted 2 years ago! They were sweet! We were able to share the pinapple with our new friends from Panama, and James' friend Luis Miguel!

This weekend we had special visitors to the church and here to the camp center. Eric and Esmirna Martinez and 2 friends of theirs came from Panama to preach a 2 day revival! They arrived Friday night, we were having a special service for the women at our church. So after the service they came here to the camp center for the night, to church Saturday night, back here for the night then back to church this morning.
God uses Eric in healing miracles, and GOD was glorified again, many people were healed completely right before our eyes! What a blessing! One lady had a open sore in her leg from varicross veins, and GOD healed her leg completely, dried up that sore that had been draining earlier in the evening! Another person was healed from inoperable cancer, and many others! JESUS said, if you believe in faith you will do greater things than these in MY NAME! JESUS wants to use you and I to speak HIS WORD into the lives of hurting people for salvation of their souls and HE also wants to heal them physically! How big is your faith?

The guys trimmed the trees closest to the house. They are mango trees and one night from down here at the building we heard an aweful noise up at our new house. So we quickly slipped on shoes to go see what had happened, turns out a little animal had been in the mago tree and as he ran across the limbs the tress shook and mangos went crashing onto our roof!

The floors all have 2 coats of varnish now and ready for those who will dance!!! thank you to each of you have helped and given to make this mission house possible!

The doors arrived at their destination today!

Making plans to move....

This is our porch yesterday now the whole house has the first coat of varnish! Praise the LORD! It is exciting to see that house come together thank you to all of you who have given or have come to help, about 90% of this house was built by volunteer labor, praise the LORD for you guys! Today Franklin and Miguel have been working on the downspouts from the guttering on the house trying to divert the water it has been raining some off and on. Yesterday and today has been beautiful sunshine! Miguels wife Bitinia came with him and is here with us this week, so she has been helping me cook!!! Yummy! they have been a huge blessing to us!

Floors under all that dust and dirt!

The guys came today to start sanding the floors! They already look better and they have 2 days of work ahead of them still! They sand it with rough grit first with this machine, then fil the cracks with fine wood dust and wood glue!! Then they sand it again fill the rest of the cracks and then the final sanding! We are looking forward to seeing how it will look! We will have to varnish it so look out knees!!! Will be glad when it is done! I am liking tile more every day!

This is Franklin by the fogon, we were cooking the first ever something on the new wood stove! We cooked pejibyes, as pictured in the first shot!

NEWS FLASH! The first window is ready to install! Now to finish the rest of them, varnish, and install! Praise the LORD!

This is Marys room, We put the window in today to see if it would fit and what it looks like! We are excited every step brings us a little closer to moving!

Keith crawled around under our house putting in the plumbing and tirelessly making sure every joint was just right! GOD has been very good to send faithfull workers into HIS field right here in Costa Rica! Thank you for coming and giving so we can minister here in the

Name of JESUS!

It is wonderful to be a part of what GOD is doing here, really being the hands and feet of JESUS here on earth! JESUS clearly finished HIS work the FATHER gave HIM, I want to be faithful to the end never wavering even when the path doesn't seem that clear! I know I can't trust my feelings but with faith in my LORD AND SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST I know I will serve HIM forever till HE calls me home! What are you committed to? Many say my family, I am committed to making a living to support my family, worthy cause but if JESUS says go into all the world and preach my gospel to every nation baptising them in the Name of the FATHER the SON and the HOLY SPIRIT, how do you choose? Do you keep working or do you take a chance that GOD will provide for you and your family if you trust in HIM? Another worthy cause is your church, yes you must remain faithfull to yor church. BUT, if JESUS says move to another state or another country where I will show you, would you go? Would you trust that JESUS will show you the next step? I admire the courage of the many who have gone before me suffering the consequences and many times dying for their faith in GOD, we may say worthless deaths, they could have done more keeping their jobs or doing something for their family. But above all when we give our life over to JESUS it is no longer ours to choose, we must follow our leader wherever it may lead. When young men and women join the military they must do what their commander says, go here, stop there, walk 10 miles, take your fellow man along with you. How much more should we follow the gentle voice of JESUS when HE says, GO into all the world, I will show you where. Lets step out, lets not faint, the biggest battle we face many times is ourselves!

It is hard to see but the water comes right out of the ground right where you see the rocks! We now have 3 springs that are producing water in dry season! We are thankful and very blessed to know that GOD knew before we even saw this place what plans HE had for it and what plans HE had to bless us with so much!

Visitors to our Choza!

Choza is another name for house in Spanish!
We had this pretty bird as a visitor a few days ago, he has a beautiful black and white tail, looks like piano keys!

Our house is looking more like home each day! The roof is completed and the siding is stained and varnished! Whata blessing to have great health and be able to do a lot of the work ourselves! We are very thankful to each of you who have come to help, we wouldn't be nearly this far along! We hope to move in the middle of May LORD willing! If you'd like to come help out building this camp center you are welcome! Call our teams coordinator Carla Tyndall at 662-842-4615, she can get you going on a trip of a lifetime(no drugs involved!)!

What do Missionaries do?

Nancy and I left this tranquil spot this morning at 11 with high hopes of getting her banking going, and pick up stain for our house, and other errands! We get about 10 minutes away from the house and there is a truck in the way. So I honk to see if they would move. They continue to unload about 200 cement block! So I waited afew minutes getting frustrated I pull up to where they were unloading and asked if they could please let me through. They guy was a little perturbed by this "gringa", and says, NO, I can't move till we finish in about a half hour! WOW! Pick a fight, or go the other way! Well needless to say we turn around and go out the other direction.
So we get to town and this is now our 3rd trip to the bank. So we park and go in very quickly get a number and were called to the window. The little banker dilligently works on getting her new bankcard out and starts entering things in the computer, and mentions, it is a little slow today! SO, we wait, and sure enough it didn't work, tomorrow he says, same story as Monday!
Manana means tomorrow in the Spanish language, but here it means just not today!
We call about the stain and by this time I had picked up James from school, but the stain isn't in neither the guy who ordered it,,,,,, you get the point, it was a very frustrating day! Here we spent 2 hours, to get nothing accomplished! BUT, in all this we have to remember, GOD is with us! Our testimony must remain true to JESUS, WWJD!!! So we get an ice cream and head home, a little dejected but knowing that if GOD is for us who can be against us! ( the truck with the cement blocks was out of the way by the time we came back thankfully!!!)

Mary and Guiselle our pastors wife sing and play together in the music at our church and Tuesday they sang and worked together on our kitchen floor putting in the grout!

Franklin and Jose Alberto worked 2 days and now we have a septic system for our house!! What a blessing! We are looking forward to building our home starting digging foundation next week!

Jorge and Jorge came out with this saw and are sawing up the logs needed for the bases to our home. They are also working on cutting up the cedar logs into lumber to be used on our house too!

Mary and James are practically out of class for the year James has 3 more tests to take this week, and then free from school until February 7th LORD willing! This is something fun the kids like doing, we have been taking them down to the creek beside our property. They are like 2 fish, they love the water! It is cold as ice! But that doesn't affect them much, it is fresh water from springs up in the mountain so clean and pure! Praise the LORD for clean water, to play in and to drink!

This is what our road looke like last week, Franklin sent these pictures! He has gotten stuck with the truck and
the Electric guys came to fix the high lines they just put, because of a mud slide the one post broke in half!
So when they finished Franklin had to pull them out, the little toyota hooked to a large line truck! It worked hard

Trip through Amish Country!

I was able to go visit my Amish family in Wisconsin and Iowa. I was wonderfully recieved
and they cooked the most wonderful meals the amish noodles, and desserts that are out of this world!
I was able to see my old school where I went all 8 grades.
Most of all I was excited to share JESUS with them, I don't feel sometimes like they understand, but at least now I know I have shared, pray for my family, that they would know JESUS as their Saviour!

Blessings to you from Wisconsin!
I have been in the states a little over 2 weeks now and have traveled over 1200 miles so far! I have enjoyed renewed friendships with old friends and new friendships made along the way!

I talk to Franklin James and Mary each day, they are in Costa Rica, the kids are in public school so they couldn't miss school. Franklin stayed with them and is setting posts for electricity, and wiring up the multi-purpose building to get ready to turn the lights on! They are planting grass and continue clearing brush, yesterday they started planting beans!
We are also involved in church 3 days per week so it keeps them busy!! Pray for us, we have never been apart this long! GOD has called us to build this camp center and we want to share that vision with you, hence my trip to visit with each of you!

Thank you to my Mother in law Claudette and Emmette for their hospitality and Bopey Lee my friend I will be staying with off and on in Owensboro Ky!

I am with Suzy Wasmuth right in Wisconsin, We will be sharing with a group here at her house tonight about the mission in Costa Rica. Then tomorrow September 25 we will be together with the team members who came to Costa Rica July2010! On Sunday Sept. 26 I will be sharing at Suzys church Plymouth Congregational church.

I will travel up to My sister Bernices in Shawano Wisc. Sunday Evening.

Monday Sept27 I will travel to Milton, Iowa to my brothers Devon and Delmars houses.

Wednesday Sept 29 I will be in Grant City MO with friends Dirk and Janelle Buffington, we met in Belize 7 years ago, so look forward to seeing you guys again!

Thursday morning Sept 30 I travel to Sedalia, MO to visit with a team who came to Costa Rica from there in March2010. I will be speaking in several churches and at Applewood Chirstian School, several of the youth from that school came to Costa Rica with Ron Jobe from that area!

GOD has been good!!! thank you all for praying for me on my trip through several states doing fundraising for the camp center we are in the process of building in Costa Rica. We are raising funds right now to build our house on the camp property. When we move into our cabin and out of the multi-purpose building we will convert it into a large conferece center to start hosting camps and seminars for the Costa Rican churches.

The camp will also provide a place for teams for the US and other countries to come minister in the Name of JESUS in Costa Rica! I have had a great 2 weeks here in the states! Thank you to each of you who are praying for me, and praying for Franklin, Mary, & James while I am gone! I have been able to share with many churches and individuals about the mission we are on in Costa Rica!
We are developing a camp and training center, ministering to every persons spiritual and physical needs as the LORD leads us!

These are the guys from the electric company, they were a lot of fun!
They seem to enjoy what they do and do well considering the conditions, it has
rained like crazy all week since they have been working, and the truck had to be pulled
out with our backhoe, praise the LORD for that backhoe!

This is the truck they used to drill the post holes then set those 13 meter posts, they didn't look that tall laying in the road, wow!
Franklin has gone today to purchase the wire we need to run the electric all the way to our multi purpose building, he and Miguel will set posts from the property line to the building next week LORD willing! Pray for their safety!

If you believe in and JESUS and are baptized you will be saved! Franklin has been sharing with the new believers before they are baptised and today they recieved a certificate, showing they followed in this very important step, one of the 2 commands our LORD JESUS left as he was taken away to Heaven, go into all the nations baptising them in the Name of the Father Son and HOLY Spirit! AMEN!
